2020 Back Packs Project: We have just received the information on the Christmas Backpack project for 2020. Letters have been sent to all the Churches and a separate copy to the WMU project leads. A letter is provided with all the items that must be in the bags to ensure that everyone gets a like bag. It is essential that every bag has the quantity and items from the letter in the bag. Think of how your child would feel if they got a bag and did not have a toy or some food in it. This might be the only food that child will get on Christmas Day. Please appoint a POC to check the bags before they are brought over to the association for shipping to the sites. The Goal for 2020 is 1880 Last year we sent 1493 and there were still children who did not get a bag. Please be in prayer to increase the number of bags this year over what you sent last year so that we can try and provide each child with a bag. Rehoboth Association has always been a huge supporter of this project and we are praying that we will be this year also. We will be accepting bags at the packing shed each Tuesday in September to ensure they are ready to be sent in time. If you cannot meet that date, please contact Pete or Phyllis to ensure your bags are part of the shipment. Let us make a child smile in the mountains this Christmas.
2020 Coat Project: We are collecting gently used coats and new coats for children, men, and women. Any gently worn coat will be greatly appreciated. Please drop them off at the Packing shed behind the Rehoboth offices anytime but people will be there on Tuesday 800A-500P, Friday, 100-400P, and Saturday 100-400P. if you need help unloading otherwise drop them in the window on the back side between the buildings.
Canned goods, beans, rice, and paper grocery bags: These items are needed by one of the sites in Tennessee. Please bring the items to the packing shed at 744 Lake Joy Road. This site uses approximately 800 paper grocery bags per month. If you could package them 25 to a package and secure them with string so they will stay together we will pack them into the gaylord boxes and send them with each of our shipments. Thank you for your cooperation in this effort.
